An Evening of Autumn of Giving
Adirondack Trust Company Community Fund
4th Annual “An Evening of Autumn of Giving”
Wednesday, October 19 from 6-8:30pm at Longfellows
The Community Fund was developed in 2009 to serve as a perpetual philanthropic avenue in Saratoga, Warren and Washington counties. The “Autumn of Giving Campaign” occurs during October and the Adirondack Trust Company matches all donations made, with 100% of the funds donated benefiting local charities. In 2013, the Advisory Committee decided to host an annual event and the inaugural “An Evening of Autumn of Giving” was held. For a very affordable $25 per ticket, guests can enjoy a celebratory evening while they savor scrumptious Longfellows’ hors d’oeuvres, partake in a cash bar, listen to brief presentations from past grant recipients and mingle with the anticipated 150 attendees.
The first year of the Community Fund, there were 8 grant requests; this year there are 43. The fund benefits the Lend-A-Hand Program and approximately 78 grants have been bestowed to various non-profit agencies in the four years since the event’s inception, totaling about $160,000. A variety of community agencies such as the Franklin Community Center, Saratoga Bridges, Ben Osborne Memorial Fund and the Wilton Wildlife Preserve, have benefited from this philanthropic endowment. Non-profit agencies are able to apply for grants from April 1-September 30. Decisions are made in early November and recipients are awarded in December. Through the generosity of donations in 2015, $44,600 was raised and the Adirondack Trust Company matched those funds, totaling $89,200.
