Congratulations! You just got engaged over the holidays and now you have to set your wedding date. Do you have a budget? Wearing white doesn’t have to leave you feeling green. You may want to consider booking an off peak wedding month. Peak season for most wedding venues is May through October. However, it may vary from venue to venue. Weddings can be celebrated anytime of the year, but if you set your big date in a less popular month or during the offseason, the savings can be significant.

During off peak months, wedding vendors hunger for business. This allows couples room for negotiating. However, when it comes to negotiating, it helps to understand the vendor’s perspective. People in the hospitality industry make a living on the services they provide. They aren’t in a position to simply give things away for nothing. With that said, vendors might have months that are less busy when it’s not so demanding, where they’re looking to fill in the gaps. If you approach them respectfully and acknowledge their work then they might be willing to give you a discount.

There are ways to save money on your wedding venue. One thing to remember is: if you want to save money, you need to be flexible. There may be area for wiggle room as long as you can be flexible!

Good Luck & Happy Planning!
