| We are very happy to share Emily & Jobe’s recent wedding here at Longfellows. On March 29th, with about 20 family members and close friends witnessing, Emily & Jobe had a beautiful ceremony in front of our indoor koi pond and then moved the party upstairs to our Loft where they all enjoyed an intimate family dinner. As always Rob Spring did a great job capturing the day! |

Schrade’s Posie Peddler is your Saratoga hometown florist. As soon as you meet the owner, Gretchen Squires, you know she loves what she does and as a fourth generation business owner, it’s in her blood! Gretchen’s Great Grandfather Henry J. Schrade opened Shrade’s Flowers in 1910. Her Grandfather then became involved in the business along with running a greenhouse on Nelson Ave. It wasn’t until Gretchen’s father decided to open the Posie Peddler on Broadway in 1974 when she got involved in the shop. Growing up with flowers has always been a part of her life. Gretchen takes alot of pride being a Saratogian and owning a family legacy. |

Derby Day!

It’s Derby Day- Let’s Celebrate!!!
The Kentucky Derby has been a Horse Racing Tradition since 1875. Everything revolves around “The Run for the Roses” which takes place at the historical Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky and is often referred to as “the greatest two minutes in sports.”
To Celebrate the Big Race and your Big Day in style, incorporate the Mint Julep as a signature drink for your guests to enjoy. Everyone will be a winner!!
4 fresh mint sprigs
2 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey
1 tsp powdered sugar
2 tsp water
Muddle mint leaves, powdered sugar, and water in a collins glass. Fill the glass with shaved or crushed ice and add bourbon. Top with more ice and garnish with a mint sprig. Serve with a straw.
